Event Details

Overview of key components in any fundraising program from Annual Fund to Major Gifts, Events, Planned Gifts, Capital Campaigns, Volunteers; Terms and Concepts commonly used; Staffing, Planning budgets and Evaluating outcomes. If you are new to Development or if you are a small shop in need of a quick review, we will aim to help give you a full tour of the best practices and professional standards guiding your work as staff and volunteers in philanthropy.

Instructors:

Reylene Robinson is Vice President of External Affairs & Advancement for Seven Counties Services/Bellewood & Brooklawn, where she oversees fundraising, business development, and public relations for an organization that provides the most comprehensive behavioral health continuum of care in Kentucky. Prior to Seven Counties Services / Bellewood & Brooklawn, Reylene played a key role as a member of the executive leadership for Family and Children’s Place (and formerly Family Place). She has previously served in a variety of capacities for multiple nonprofit agencies. As Regional Director for the Alzheimer’s Association, she managed major gifts, planned giving, and educational initiatives for 48 counties in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Prior to that, Reylene served as the Unit Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lorain County, Ohio.

Reylene obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Special Education from Ashland University and maintains a teaching certificate in special education. She also has a Master’s degree in Public Administration in Nonprofit Executive Management from Cleveland State University. She holds a Certified Fund Raising Executive credential.
Reylene is a founding member of the Kappa Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority, a multicultural-based sorority which uniquely focuses on the needs of cultural connection and service to women in college. She currently serves as a Trustee for the Sigma Lambda Gamma Education Foundation. Reylene is also on the board of Lead Kentucky.

Mark Rountree serves as Executive Vice President and Senior Consultant with Ashley|Rountree and Associates in Louisville. Mark has made a career in nonprofit management and fundraising for the past 40 years, serving as both a development officer and a consultant for educational, cultural, human service and health organizations. Prior to joining Ashley|Rountree, Mark was Vice President and part-owner at RuffaloCODY (now RNL) for 12 years where he advised nonprofits nationally on their annual giving programs. In the 1990s, Mark served as Director of Development for the University of Louisville’s College of Arts and Sciences, and prior to that, he lived and worked in North Carolina as a fundraiser in the arts in Durham and also for NC State University. Mark is past-President of Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Louisville Chapter. In 2016, Mark was awarded the Frank W. Penick Founder’s Award, the highest honor given by AFP Greater Louisville to fundraising professionals for career achievement and service. He is a member of New Albany Rotary (Indiana). Mark is a graduate of Occidental College in Los Angeles.
