Help our community by investing in your professional education. Center for Nonprofit Excellence is proud to present this comprehensive 2-day in-person certificate course where you will learn from local fundraising leaders and get in-depth knowledge in best practices that will help you lead successful development efforts in our nonprofit community. Make a commitment in 2024 to learn from the best so you can thrive in your career and grow philanthropy for your organization. At the end of these two days, all participants will be officially recognized as a holder of: Certificate in Fundraising and Engagement, CNPE School for Fundraising and Engagement.

More about the Certificate for CNPE School for Fundraising and Engagement

The Center for Nonprofit Excellence in Louisville, Kentucky created the School for Fundraising and Engagement in 2021 as a means of building capacity in fundraising and engagement for all of our region's nonprofits with a long-term goal of creating a just and equitable community that ensures everyone has the resources and opportunities to thrive. We believe that our new Certificate in Fundraising and Engagement within the School will fill an unmet need for substantive in-depth professional training of our local nonprofit staffs.

The purpose of the certification process at the CNPE School is to provide nonprofit professionals and volunteer leaders with an in-depth, comprehensive base of knowledge in best practices that will help practitioners assist and lead our nonprofit community to thrive.

The curriculum of the Certificate program will include learning modules in all aspects of Fundraising and Development Program Management, including:

  • Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Capital Campaigns, Planned Giving, and Endowments
  • Program Planning, Goal-setting, and Metrics
  • Donor engagement, Gift Stewardship, and Accountability
  • Building a Community-centric fundraising culture for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion
  • Managing Events, Online Giving, Marketing, and Digital Communications
  • Working with Executive Directors, Boards, and Volunteers
  • Professional Guidelines, Ethics, and Building a Sustainable Career
  • CFRE Credit in process

The benefits of certification will be three-fold: for the learners who completed the certificate, for their peers and colleagues, and for the community. All participants who complete the Certificate program will receive approximately 14 classroom hours of in-person instruction with experts in the field and, as a result, they will bring new skills and best practices to their workplace or to their volunteer boards. As a result of participation in the Certificate program, the participants will be part of a cohort of peers who will be encouraged and helped by CNPE to stay in touch and help each other in their work as staff and volunteers with nonprofits. Finally, the long-term impact of this rigorous certification program will be experienced by nonprofits of all sizes and from all areas of our community; each nonprofit organization, its staff and its clients benefit from a commitment to successful, ethical, community-centric training.
