Job Description

The Hildegard House Volunteer Coordinator collaborates with the Volunteer Manager to support the volunteer workforce that sustains the mission of Hildegard House. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for scheduling volunteers, assists with training, ensuring accurate volunteer records are maintained and facilitating volunteer recognition.

Scheduling

  • Assists with volunteer self-scheduling in Volgistics. With guidance from the Volunteer Manager, ensures Compassionate Companion (CC) slots are filled.
  • Responsible for data entry of volunteer records in Volgistics. Inputs new volunteer records and maintains notes in existing records.
  • Collaborates with Volunteer Manager for providing coverage when a Compassionate Companion is unavailable.
  • Monitors CC schedules to ensure volunteers are active and engaged.
  • Oversees volunteer schedules for cleaning and meal preparation and gardening.

Training

  • Assists with ongoing trainings and CC orientation as directed by Volunteer Manager.
  • Assembles CC handbook and materials for CC orientation.
  • Tracks progress of new CC checklist to completion.
  • Collaborates with Volunteer Manager to ensure new CCs complete shadowing shifts and are able to utilize Volgistics.

Communication/Support

  • Communicates with all volunteers as needed via email, text and phone.
  • Facilitates volunteer recognition by maintaining birthday lists and collaborates with Volunteer Manager to send birthday cards and thank you notes.
  • Provides direct care to residents of Hildegard House through regular interaction alongside CCs and when providing coverage.
  • Answers door, greets visitors and answers incoming calls, as needed.
  • Prints volunteer nametags and photos.
  • Helps with incoming donations by documenting and collecting donation logs.
Job Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of business English.
  • High degree of discretion and emphasis on confidentiality.
  • Must be able to communicate in a helpful and professional manner.
  • Organized with time management skills.
  • Demonstrating willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Must be able to collaborate with others.

Part-time, Wednesday through Saturday, maximum 25-hour schedule. Schedule to be determined in collaboration with Volunteer Manager.

Reports to Volunteer Manager.

Salary Range $20.00 + hourly
