THE OPPORTUNITY The position was established two years ago to reflect the growing importance of Maryhurst's engagement with the community. Thanks to an expanding development team, greater emphasis can now be placed on community partnerships and advocacy allowing the CCO to focus efforts in these areas. Since 2022 thanks to strong relationships with elected officials and government partners, Maryhurst has attained an additional $9 million in governmental support through their advocacy efforts. This individual will also be responsible for working closely with Board leaders, providing guidance on key projects to ensure Board skillsets are maximized. The work of the CCO will focus evenly on business development/external relations, advocacy/government relations and fundraising strategy. This position oversees a team of eleven and directly supervises a team of four: VP for Development, Director of Marketing and Communications, Director of Foundation Relations and Community Partnership Coordinator. The successful candidate should have a deep knowledge of best fundraising practices; however, the VP of Development will oversee the daily activities and maintain a portfolio of donors along with the President/CEO. Maryhurst will be embarking on a campaign soon, and the CCO will be responsible for oversight of the campaign. This position reports to the President/CEO. CANDIDATE PROFILE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maryhurst seeks a Chief Community Officer who has the skills and ability to embrace and lead these functions: Fundraising Oversees the strategic direction of fundraising operations and provides support to the Vice President of Development and the development team in achieving annual goals related to fundraising. Community Relations Leads agency in strategic community relations activities including the development of strategic partnerships, supporting the President/CEO's community presence, and ensuring the agency is positioned as a strong community partner. Advocacy and Government Relations Leads the development and execution of an advocacy and government relations plan focused on ensuring strong relations with elected officials, government partners, and securing appropriate resources related to fulfilling the agency's strategic plan. Board Relations Supports President/CEO and provides leadership on key projects to ensure that we are maximizing the skills, resources, and networks of board members to further Maryhurst's mission. Communications Ensures that the right strategic investments are being made to achieve our goals in relation to external and internal communications. Oversees other strategic projects as assigned. |

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Maryhurst is prepared to offer a competitive salary in the range of $100,000 - $130,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, and company paid short- and long-term disability, Maryhurst also offers a 403b program with a 3% match that can be applied to retirement contributions or cover student loan repayment, as well as paid time off for vacations and holidays and embraces a flexible work schedule.
